Ski Plane Flights from Franz Josef Base

This area is the only place in the world where mountains rise up to 3754m from sea level within a very short distance from the coastline. Resulting in the most dramatic scenery you will ever see.  All our landing flights allow you to experience the thrill of a Ski Plane glacier landing with 10 minutes on the snow to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Southern Alps. After landing on the snow the engine is shut down so you can enjoy the natural quiet of the mountains.

Twin Glacier (FRA1)              

NZ$315.00 per adult, NZ$235.00 per child

Approximately 40 minutes duration and includes a 10 minute glacier snow landing. 

Fly over the lowland rainforest of the West Coast to view the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers.  See the western sides of Mt Tasman, Aoraki/Mount Cook and the Southern Alps.

Glacier Magic (FRA2)              

NZ$395.00 per adult, NZ$300.00 per child 

Approximately 60 minutes duration and includes a 10 minute glacier snow landing.

Fly from the lowland rainforest of the West Coast over the Fox, Franz Josef and Tasman Glaciers to experience the spectacular scenery of both National Parks.  Fantastic close up views of Aoraki/Mount Cook and Mt Tasman from both the eastern and western side of the Southern Alps.

Approximately 30 minutes duration, this scenic flight does not include a glacier landing.
